How to Make Your Car Ready for a Car Show
by Paul Posted on June 15th, 2009A car, whether classic or modern, is a beauty as long as it is well-maintained. However, is it ready to be displayed in front of car lovers and racing aficionados? Remember, the people who will view your car have seen their share of super cars and muscle cars, so you should make yours stand out from the pack (To have an idea, see the Top ten fastest cars in the world). You can prep your car for an auto show by souping up its engine, interior, and exterior, then making it glisten like a gold trophy.
Engine Enhancements
Many people who enter their cars in auto shows aren’t your everyday city drivers. Some of them are accomplished racers, which is why their automobiles have powerful engines. If your car isn’t souped up, it will look pale alongside those dragsters. Visit a reputable shop that customizes cars and car engines. Have the engine overhauled, so it can match any dragster, performance-wise. Install nitrous oxide, which gives cars a timely speed boost during a race. When all the enhancements have been installed, make the engine shine using a chamois and metal polish.
Body Enhancements
With the engine souped up, you might as well make the necessary adjustments to the car’s body. View the available body kits offered by the custom shop. Select one and ask the mechanic to make a few adjustments, so it will look distinct. The headlights, tail lights, and the muffler will be replaced with sleeker and more stylish models. Skirts, hood designs, and a spoiler will then be added. Ask the mechanic to polish the car’s frame to a shine or you can do it yourself with car wax and a trusty chamois. (Learn how to wax a car)
Fix the Car Interior
The interiors of cars displayed on auto shows display a balance of style and comfort. You should conform to this standard, if you want to gain much wanted attention from the event’s attendants, especially the judges of the competition. Replace the stock car seats with the sleekest ones you can find at auto supply shops then comfort them with shiny black leather. Customize a steering wheel, which should have button controls for the car’s racing functions and a space age design. If you’re not content with the interior’s appearance, you can have the dashboard and the car stereo customized. You can even install TV monitors and docking stations for mp3 players and hand-held gaming consoles.
Show ‘em What You Got
With all the enhancements in place, you can finally register your car in an auto show. It, now, has a fighting chance of giving the perennial winners a run for the money. If you are adept at racing, you can even challenge the other racers for a few races, which can reward you with a huge payoff.
