Origami is a fun hobby and best of all, it can be done by almost anyone, as long as they know how to fold a paper. The most common origami projects out there are for animals and crafts. In this article, you will learn how to make an origami yacht.

What you’ll need:

  • Square piece of paper

How You’ll Do It:

Step 1

Have the piece of paper on a flat surface, with one of the sharp corners pointed at you. Fold it in the middle, to the top corner, forming a triangle. Crease.

Step 2

Open the paper and fold one of the sides halfway to the middle.

Step 3

Fold the other half completely over the half you just folded. Fold it back to about half the size.

Step 4

Again, point the long pointed end at you and then, fold the top part so it will look like the bottom part of the yacht.

Step 5

Fold a small part of the yacht’s bottom edge to make the waterline.

Step 6

Open the bottom part of the yacht and reverse-fold it, and there you have it. Your very own origami yacht.

The yacht is the more abstract version so it won’t float, but if you want it displayed or framed, it is perfect. It’s easy to make, as well.
