How to Make a Candy Christmas Wreath
by Paul Posted on December 18th, 2008What happens to a Christmas wreath right after the yuletide season? It is often stored in a closet until the entire year passes. Sometimes, the shrub-based ornament withers, rendering it useless the following Christmas season. You’ll end up buying another one or one whole set come mid-December. To free yourself from the responsibility of maintaining a Christmas wreath, why not make an edible version? It may not be reusable, but you will surely enjoying stuffing it along with your scrumptious Christmas dinner.
Wrapped Candy Christmas Wreath
Baking an edible wreath can be challenging for those who are adept at cooking. Instead of troubling yourself with kitchen matters, you can just create a wrapped candy Christmas wreath. It is composed of a pack of candies, some wire and several traditional wreath adornments.
Materials Used:
- 8 - 10 packs of wrapped candies (preferably with sterling wrappers)
- metal wire hanger
- ribbons
- bow
- scissors
- pliers
Procedure:
Step 1
Purchase the metal wire hanger, ribbons, and bow from any department store. Head over to a candy shop or the grocery for the pack of candies. Remember, the patterns on the candy wrappers are the focal point of your wreath’s design, so you must choose wisely.
Step 2
With all of the materials purchased, start by shaping the metal wire hanger into a Christmas wreath. Use your pliers to make the job easier. Your wreath’s ideal circumference should be between six to eight inches.

Step 4
Wrap the candy with ribbon and then tie it to one end of the candy wrapper.
Step 5
Wrap the other end of the ribbon piece around the wire base formed from the metal wire hanger.
Step 6
Repeat steps 3 to 5 until the entire wreath has been covered with ribbon and candies. You should stick the candies close together, so your wreath will look compact.

If you can’t find a candy wrapper design you like, you can create your own by using cellophane, art paper or any elegant-looking paper. Remove the candies from their wrappers and place inside your creations. The entire project is easy to do, but can be time-consuming. Having a few partners will make things simpler.
