How To Make An Origami Bat
by jie Posted on December 10th, 2008Among Japan’s contribution to the world is the fine art of paper folding, known as origami. It is a craft that promotes creativity and doesn’t require any expensive materials, just paper. In this article, you will learn how to make an origami bat.
What you’ll need:
- A sheet of 6″ x 6″ paper
- A flat surface
How You’ll Do It:
Step 1
Position the paper in front of you with the sharp edge pointing towards you. The back part of the paper should be facing up.

Step 2
Fold the bottom corner up to the top corner.

Step 3
Fold the right corner over to the left corner. Crease it, then unfold.

Step 4
Fold the right corner up to the top. Fold the same corner down to the bottom. You should have a smaller triangle.

Step 5
Fold the top horizontal side of the small triangle out to the bottom sloping side.

Step 6
Repeat steps 4 and 5 on the left side. Turn the model over.

Fold both layers of the top corner down to the bottom corner.

Fold both layers back into a smaller triangle that sits half above and half below the larger triangle.

Fold half of the protruding portion of the triangle behind the model.

Fold the two sloping edges of the large triangle to align on the center vertical, allowing the back flaps to flip forward.

Pinch the two loose corners at the bottom part of the model that extend beyond the top layer. Pull them out. You know have your very own origami bat.
