Wine is perhaps the oldest drink in human history, probably dating as far back as 6000 BC. Today, many kinds of wine are being produced, from the most expensive down to the common ones you see in stores. I you want to make your own wine
, then here’s how.

What you’ll need:

  • hydrometer
  • glass jugs
  • racking cane and hose
  • check valve
  • additives
  • yeast
  • main ingredient, in this case, cherries, fermented

How You’ll Do It:

Step 1

Prepare the must. Get the hydrometer and take a reading of the specific gravity. It goes without saying that you must learn how to read the hydrometer.

Step 2

Stir up all the ingredients together. Let the must set for 24 hours. The last ingredient you will put in is the yeast.

Step 3

During the fermentation process, it is normal that you will see bubbles and froth. The must will ferment slower or faster depending on the temperature that it’s fermenting at.

Step 4

Put the racking cane down into the must. Use it and the hose to transfer the must to a water jug. Then, cap it off with the check valve.

Step 5

Put the jug in a cool, dark place, away from sunlight. The basement will do nicely. Leave it there for three or four weeks.

Step 6

Once the time is up, it’s now time to clear the wine. Use a racking cane and hose. Add the sparkolloid and immediately stir the wine.

Step 7

Once you’ve gotten rid of the sediments, it’s time to bottle the wine. Just add the sweetener try to taste and smell the result. If it is to your satisfaction, then bottle the wine. You’re done!

Wine-making is not just a hobby, it’s an art. It might take a couple of tries to perfect at first, but keep at it and you’ll have your own brand of wine in no time.

Many people love drinking wine for social purposes but you too can enjoy it at the comfort of your home. Start a relaxing day by learning how to make wine yourself and sit back and sip your way to a soothing experience.
