Magic tricks are usually a very welcome addition to any party, and with good reason. Magic is one of the oldest concept in human history. Virtually every culture has their own interpretation of magic. Today, magicians still enthrall crowds with their plethora of magic tricks, with card tricks being the most popular. Here, you will learn how to perform one of the more amazing card tricks: making them levitate.

What you’ll need:

  • Playing cards
  • Piece of clear plastic
  • Sticky wax

How You’ll Do It:

Step 1

Cut out a piece of clear plastic strip about two millimeters longer than the length of the card. Plastic covers from folders are fine.

Step 2

Get some sticky wax and stick it right in the middle of the plastic.

Step 3

Place the plastic right in the middle of the card.

Step 4

Using your thumb and your pinkie, gently squeeze the plastic strip. This will cause the card to “rise up”, giving the illusion of levitation.

You may need to practice holding the edges of the plastic so it won’t be as obvious when you do. With enough practice, you can make it look like the card’s really levitating without any seemingly out of the ordinary movements. Once you do, start to amaze your friends!
