How To Make Fake Blood
Fake blood is a necessary ingredient if you’re into dressing up on Halloween. It used to be that you could get away with using ketchup, but people today are more discerning of their costume effects. If you want a more realistic-looking fake blood, here’s how.
Materials Needed
- Light corn syrup
- Food coloring (red, blue, yellow)
- Cough syrup (optional)
- Chicken liver (optional)
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Pour 16 ounces of light corn syrup into a bowl. If you don’t have corn syrup, you can substitute cough syrup.

If you want added realism and effect, you can add gore by mixing in some chicken liver.
Now, you can go all-out crazy with your fake blood! Just be sure not to surprise someone with a heart condition, or else you’ll really get in trouble.
