How To Make A USB Battery

Do you know that you can change a normal 9V battery into a USB one? Here’s how.

Materials Needed

  • 5.1V zener diode
  • 330-ohm resistor
  • 9V battery connector
  • 9V battery
  • Soldering gun and iron
  • Female USB connector

Step by Step Procedure

Step 1

Have the materials ready. You can get them at your local Radio Shack.

Step 2

Grab the USB connector and attach the zener diode to its left and right metal prongs.

Step 3

Solder the black wire of the 9V battery connector to the left prong. Attach the resistor to the right wire.

Step 4

Solder the other end of the resistor to the right prong.

Step 5

Hook up the battery to the battery connector and you’re done!

Now, you should have your very own USB battery in those times of emergency.
