How To Make A 3D Origami Christmas Star
Materials Needed
- A square piece of origami paper
Step by Step Procedure
Step 1
First pre-crease a square 8×8 horizontal, vertical and on both diagonals. Remember that it is important to do this for all the sides indicated.

Step 2
Now fold into a water bomb base and collapse the tip. The end result should look like a trapezoid. Look at the indicated diagonal and fold it into a square. Collapse the square as shown. Repeat the process for a second time on the other diagonal, a third and fourth time as indicated.

Step 3
Look for an end product that looks like an upside down house shape and fold it as indicated in the example until you end up with something like a boat with a huge sail.

Step 4
Fold it in on one side as seen in the example. Return it to the upside down house shape and repeat the step for the 3 other sides. Don’t be distracted by the other flaps and focus on the ‘upside down house shape.

Step 5
Now sort it out in such a way that you can see these cross shapes at 5 sides. Only the top looks different. We fix this by reverse folding the tips. Now we have symmetry on all 6 sides.

Step 6
Fold all the 6 crosses in the way indicated below. The end result of folding one cross in such a way should make it look more like a star than a cross.

After you’ve done this to all 6 crosses, voila! You have your Christmas star!
