How To Make A Dracula Costume
Posted on March 17th, 2008Never has the world seen a creature that displays such a deadly combination of wit, charm and savagery as Dracula. Dracula is known as the ultimate vampire and the primal feeder of human blood. Feared by many, this vampire’s story has been told long enough to haunt people throughout countless generations.
Now, you can take advantage of this legendary creature and his legendary tales by making everyone believe that he exists come Halloween. Wear a good Dracula costume on the 31st of October and watch your friends scream like little kids.
Dracula is perhaps the greatest of all legendary monsters. Portraying such a monster without justice might wake him up from his coffin to suck the blood out of you. To make your own Dracula costume, you should intertwine the class of an elder statesman with the viciousness of a wild dog. Dracula is known for his extremely pale complexion and his dark caped garb; not adding those details to your costume merits you several vampire bites.
Materials Used:
- white foundation
- red lipstick
- eyeliner
- black tuxedo
- black cape
- make-up
- plastic fangs
- hair-cutting kit
- press-on nails
- black trousers
- black socks
- black shoes
To create your Dracula costume, you must first sport the classic hairstyle of Dracula. You can ask a friend or your barber to give you the Dracula cut. Make sure that the front portion of has two upward curves separated by a thin line of hair that stretches to the tip of your forehead.
After copying Dracula’s signature haircut, the next order is his deathly white skin. Cover your body with white make-up, especially your face. Use the brushes in the make-up kit to balance your made-up skin tone with ease. Place emphasis on the whitening of your face then cover it with all the appropriate make-up, creating the dark eye region, blood red lips and macabre face.
You can now put on your lovely set of fake nails for your set of vampire talons and your plastic fangs for your vampire fangs. By the end of your transformation, you should make your palest friends look like beach-addicts.
Now, the only thing you need to fix is Dracula’s classic-styled garb. Wear a 17th century styled tuxedo, complete with undergarments and accessories. Grab the long black cape and tie it around your neck. Wear a pair of black trousers with matching black socks and a shiny pair of black leather shoes to take care of the bottom half of your Dracula costume.
Finish things off by bringing a vial of fake blood. You can douse your mouth area with fake blood if you think you’re in for some stiff competition during the costume contest. If you lose the award, you can always use your vampire charms to get the hottest ladies and your vampire fangs to bite some sanity into those biased judges.
