How To Make A Pillar Candle
A pillar candle stands as the most elegant alternative to total darkness. It is characterized by its elegant designs and its pleasant scents. For being stylish, most people use it more as a decorative item than an actual tool for blackouts.
A lot of people want to have their own pillar candles at home but due to the candle’s stiff price they are often left with ordinary lackluster candles. Then again, if they only possessed a little creativity and watched more episodes of MacGuyver, they could actually make their own pillar candles.
The pillar candle is pretty easy to make. If you have a good supply of candle wax, a pillar candle mold, a wick and a bottle of perfume, it is possible to make an entire set in less than an hour. The steps are very basic and the cost of each item is cheaper then spare change.
Materials Used:
- boiler
- candle wax
- pillar candle mold
- wick
- dye
- perfume
- cutter
The first step to create a pillar candle is to melt the candle wax in the broiler. Place an ample amount of candle wax in the broiler. Turn the temperature of the broiler to about 138 degrees Fahrenheit and wait for the wax to melt.
Once the wax becomes a syrupy liquid, transfer it to the pillar candle mold together with the wick. Spray perfume on your candle right before it hardens to thoroughly absorb the scent.
When the wax dries, take it out of the mold and carve patterns on your pillar candle using your cutter. Apply dye to your carved patterns. When it dries, you have a pillar candle beautiful enough to match the theme of your living room.
The pillar candle appears as an elegant figure amidst a cloak of darkness. Amazingly, it also stands out even in well-lit rooms and dusty corners. It is your tiny tower for illumination and aesthetics.
