How To Make Easter Eggs
by howtomakestuff Posted on March 4th, 2008Everyone is happy during Easter Sunday. People celebrate the rise of the Messiah by hosting several fun activities. Adults spread the holy cheer as they engage in outdoor cookouts and enjoy happy conversations with neighbors and loved ones. Kids also have their own fun way of welcoming the return of Jesus by participating in the Easter egg hunt.
From the Mouths of Babes
According to a few children’s tales, the lovable Easter bunny was the tasked carrier of Easter eggs. He danced and pranced around the streets and near the houses of good kids. Kids were happy to see him as the happy hare handed them pretty and colorful Easter eggs. Also, the adults welcomed him since only he could bring out the goodness of every naughty kid during Easter.
The Easter bunny was more than happy doing his job, but a very unfortunate incident caused him to lose his Easter eggs. The eggs were supposedly scattered in marshes, forests and the households of very good kids. Now, it is the job of every kid to find those precious little eggs of the Easter bunny so he can resume his cheer-spreading ways.
The tale may not be factual, but every kid and kid-at-heart joins Easter egg hunts to win prizes and to have fun with all their loved ones.
Materials Used:
- 24 eggs
- 2 watercolor sets (with brush and color palette)
- plastic cup with water
To create a magical and happy effect for Easter Sunday’s favorite pastime, you must create very suitable themes for your Easter eggs. Be careful when selecting a theme for your Easter egg. If your egg looks overdressed for the occasion, kids will be alienated by the design of the egg. You probably know how small details tend to affect the simple mindsets of kids. They will probably lose their drives to find the rest of the eggs after seeing an Easter egg that looks just like a gift wrapper. Imagine an oversized happy bunny carrying an egg basket. The designs of your Easter eggs should fit right in with that scene.
It might sound strange, but some tattoo patterns actually work well with Easter eggs. You can tweak popular tattoo patterns like tribal designs and arched waves as you simplify them to suit the tastes of children. If you find those designs too complicated for your artistic talent, you can just paint each egg with a distinct color and polka dots to stylize your Easter eggs.
Remember to make each egg distinct from one another since the design of an Easter egg is supposed to symbolize the individual goodness of every kid. Well, if you don’t have the time to do that, there should be at least four different sets of eggs bearing similar designs.
Watercolor is a good coloring material for Easter eggs since the coat displays a simplistic beauty that suits the simple tastes of kids. Also, it will only cost you a couple of dollars to buy the entire watercolor set complete with a brush and a palette. A couple of watercolor kits are enough to take care of two dozen Easter eggs.
Upon selecting and perfecting the design of every Easter egg, you can place all of the needed colors in the kit’s color palette as you dip your brush in water after collecting each color. Some colors may not be available from the watercolor’s selection of colors but there is absolutely nothing to worry about. You can mix different colors using your palette to bring out your desired colors or to discover even better colors for your eggs. From there, your set of Easter eggs and the Easter grins of a lot of kids are just a few brushstrokes away from completion.
The Easter egg is the darling of every Easter celebration. Kids love them as well as their parents. Give those people a chance to literally see the cheer of Easter by creating well designed Easter eggs.
